A quarter hour from Lac de Sainte Croix, near the Gorges du Verdon, and one hour from the coast (Fréjus, St. Raphaël), Le Relais de la Bresque, open from 1 March to 27 October, is the ideal base to spend your vacation in a family setting, and to discover the charms of Provence.

Situated 20 minutes from Lake Ste. Croix and 60 minutes from the coast, Sillans la Cascade is a delightful village near the Gorges du Verdon.
With its river, its wonderful shade, its waterfalls and the immense prairies, Sillans has much to offer to visitors. The village has kept its special medieval aspect that, all huddled together, resembles a big farm with a central court. Inside one can admire:
• The St. Etienne church (17th century), with its pretty entry and stone facing.
• The ramparts with their towers and 11th century battlements.
• And the castle which has been under renovation since the town took it over.
In Sillans there is also the waterfall. A pleasant walk of 800m through woods of century old plane trees leads to this wonderful 42m cascade. It is the waters of the Bresque, joined by those of the spring of the castle of Bresc and the valley of Ourc that rush into the swirling water of the little lake below.

Cotignac (6km), Salernes (6km), Fox Amphoux (9km), and Aups (7km).
This is the largest of the Verdon lakes. The lake stretches 10km long and 3km wide, or over an area of 2,200 hectares.
The lake's "tail" heads back into the Gorges du Verdon at the "Pont de Galetas" in the northern part of the lake between Aiguines and Moustiers. This is a chosen spot for canoers and kayakers.
There are lifeguards on duty. Only electric motors are permitted.
Marinas are located in Sainte-Croix du Verdon, Les Salles sur Verdon, and Bauduen.
Water sports: sailing, windsurfing, catamarans, fishing, pedal boats, canoeing and kayaking, motor boat rentals.
This immense and magnificent canyon straddles the départements of Var and Alpes de Hautes Provence.
The gigantic cliffs of calcareous rock are the result of the erosion of the Verdon river.
Never fully discovered until the beginning of the century, the Gorges du Verdon have since fascinated innumerable visitors. There is no doubt that the sight is imposing! In the midst of a nature reserve, rich in flora and fauna, the scenery here is astonishing. The custodial villages nestled at the foot of the fault have maintained their old fashioned Provençal appeal. Here you will be warmly welcomed, and thanks to the fabulous natural resources of the area, countless activities are available:

The regional park of Verdon (Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon) was formed in March 1997.
It includes 43 towns in the two departments and spreads out over nearly 178,000 hectares.
